Hiding away from the bustles of the city, the restaurant is situated within the old Seletar Airbase. It gives a 'kampong' feeling, yet many say being here feels like you in the countryside of Australia, like no-where you've ever been in Singapore - I can't agree more with them. If you are lucky, you might catch private planes taking off or landing.
A must-try would be the Buffalo Wings, which comes with 10 levels of 'hotness' - half a dozen would cost about S$16, while a whole dozen would cost about S$21. Definitely packs more 'omph' than your regular spicy KFC drumlets. Serves mainly western dishes such as BBQ Pork Ribs (regular size @ S$19.90) and Fish 'n' Chips (S$15.50). Tiger beer is going for S$5 a glass, while the imported cousins are slightly pricier. If you'd like to bring a bottle of wine, the corkage charge is S$10 a bottle, though they have a good but limited wine selection.
The place is generally not that accessible by public transport, so do drive in; or you can take SBS bus 103 to East Camp. For those who fear of getting lost, you need to catch the big coloured banner by 'Hawker Pacific'. For directions, check out this map (a link at Hungry Go Any Where).
Sunset Grill & Pub's owner Jerry, a Canadian who have been in our sunny island for 30 years, said that they intend to open till the end of 2008 before the area makes way for the new airbase. So do come on by to support this lovely hideout. Perhaps some of you can offer a hideout that we can all flock over to get away the hussles of our island city.
I've personally tried level 4 and 5 for the Buffalo wings... power sia! Makes you tear and sweat. No joke!
